GREG ODEN: Should Blazer fans get used to seeing Oden out of uniform? According to Joe Freeman of Oregon Live, Oden's status on his knee is unclear. Expectations have definitely been lowered as Blazer trainers are currently unsure whether Oden's left knee will be fully healed by October 26th, opening day. We'll keep you updated on Greg Oden's progress.

STEVE NASH: Marc Weber of The Gazette recently conducted a Q & A session with the PHX Sun's PG. In the interview, Nash discusses his part ownership of the Vancouver White Caps, which enter the MLS in 2011.

HELIO CASTRONEVES: Here's a picture of HC and his crew on the historical trolleys in The City by the Bay. Castroneves is in San Francisco for the IZOD IndyCar Series race at Infineon Raceway in Sonoma this weekend.

DONOVAN MCNABB: Jason Reid of The Washington Post writes that Donovan knows that his team still needs to improve to be competitive this year. The Redskins ended training camp today and have three pre-season games remaining before the start of the NFL season.

YAO MING: The Rocket's center recently surprised kids from the quake-hit Sichuan area of China with a cameo appearance. Yao is still touring his home country in order to raise money for his charity.

STEVE NASH: Dan Miranda of The Knicks Fan blog asks "Is Steve Nash Essential to Amare's success?" Miranda claims NBA fans are in for a rude awakening, in that, Stoudemire will be a beast in NY without having Nash at PG. We'll see if he's right in a few months.

BRANDON JENNINGS: Young Buck debuts his new Under Armour sneakers on the cover of SLAM magazine.  The Black Ice line hits store shelves this November. 

RAY LEWIS: FanLine followers discuss "Who's better, Ray Lewis or Troy Polamalu?"

OSI UMENYIORA: Mike Silver of Yahoo Sports writes that the Giants' defense hopes to become bullies again. Osi and Justin Tuck combined for 13 sacks last year. 

GREG ODEN: Sean Meagher of OregonLive caught up with Oden earlier this month for an interview. According to Meagher, Oden is close to being 'in-shape' and ready to go for the upcoming NBA season.

HELIO CASTRONEVES: Due to Helio's post-race actions at Edmonton on July 27th, the Brazilian driver was fined a whopping $60,000 and put on probation for the remainder of the IRL racing season.

OSI UMENYIORA: Osi practiced with the starting unit at Monday's defensive practice. Experts advise the casual fan not to read deep into Osi practicing with the first squad because switches happen all the time in training camp. 

RAJON RONDO: The new big three vs. the old big three: It's official, the Miami Heat will open the NBA season against the Boston Celtics. The Heat will be bringing the "heat" despite Rondo's comments about their lack of team chemistry. In other news, Rondo's new teammate could be Super man aka Shaquille O'Neal. Stay tuned.

YAO MING: The Rocket's center recently invited Harvard-NBA Summer League sensation, Jeremy Lin to participate in an all-star game in Taiwan. See video of the event here.

JONATHAN VILMA: Chris Harry of Fanhouse writes about the greatness that is Jonathan Vilma. Chris writes, if one were to ask Saints' Defensive Coordinator Gregg Williams, who got the best of Peyton Manning in Super Bowl XLIV---the answer would be Jonathan Vilma. A rare combination of star linebacker, field general and unquestioned leader, JV is set to become the Saints' defensive leader once again.

HELIO CASTRONEVES: HC's outburst at Sunday's race in Edmonton is still under investigation by the IRL. According to Fanhouse, Castroneves put hands on and cursed out IRL security chief Charles Burns after receiving a blocking penalty, a call that eventually cost him the race. Helio has since apologized but remains firm on his stance regarding IRL's controversial call. We'll keep you updated about Helio's possible suspension. Click here for video of the incident.

RAY LEWIS: Terrell Owens, the newly signed Cincinnati Bengal, who many thought would team up with Ray Lewis and company in B-More, would not have "fit" with the Ravens' organization according to Mike Preston of the Ravens Insider. We'll see if Baltimore made the right move by not drafting TO this year. One thing is for certain, the AFC North just became more interesting.

YAO MING: ESPN reports that Yao might quit basketball if his foot doesn't heal 100 percent. 

OSI UMENYIORA: According to NJ.com, the Giants' LB will temporarily forego hip surgery. Medical experts say that Umenyiora's hip-pain will not subside without having season-ending surgery. Meanwhile, newly signed LB Keith Bulluck says he's about 90% recovered from a torn knee ligament injury sustained last year. We'll continue to keep you tuned into Osi's decision regarding any possible hip surgery.

DONOVAN MCNABB: DM5 recently attended a book signing with over 300 Redskins fans at a local Border's bookstore in DC. This event marks one of McNabb's first public appearances in the Nation's Capitol. Donovan autographed a book titled, "NFL Dads Dedicated to Daughters."

BRANDON JENNINGS: Young Buck has a new backup and his name is Keyon Dooling. Milwaukee signed the lock-down defender to a two-year, $4 million dollar contract.

LOLO JONES: Universal Sports names Miss Jones as the world's most eligible bachelorette.

STEVE NASH: The PHX Suns point guard participated with the MLS Red Bulls in their training session yesterday. 

RAJON RONDO: Redsarmy.com has video of a confident-looking Rondo at the Team USA practice facility. Rondo is still in the hunt to become USA's PG. Stay tuned.

YAO MING: The Rockets center recently swam with the Shanghai Sharks.

GREG ODEN: The Portland Trailblazers hire new General Manager Rich Cho. Cho becomes the first Asian-American GM of an NBA franchise. Look for Rich Cho to extend Greg Oden's contract this fall.

STEVE NASH: The Toronto Raptors will play the PHX Suns in an exhibition game at Rogers Arena in Vancouver, Canada on October 6th. Nash, who was raised in near-by Victoria, played the opening exhibit game in Vancouver last year to a sold-out crowd versus the Portland Trailblazers.

OSI UMENYIORA: With Osi possibly coming off the bench and Jason Pierre-Paul added to the mix, it may be difficult to keep all the Giants defensive lineman happy, via Pro Football Talk. 

RAJON RONDO: Rondo was indecisive Sunday when asked about his possible participation with the USA Basketball National Team which began practice on Monday. We'll keep you updated on Rondo's decision.

DONOVAN MCNABB: Hardwork pays off. McNabb is hosting "hell week," a super workout in the desert heat of Arizona. Receivers, Devin Thomas, Santana Moss, and Malcolm Kelly are among the players that have accepted the invitation. The Redskins open training camp on July 29th in Ashburn, Virginia. 

HELIO CASTRONVES: Helio didn't finish the IndyCar Series' Honda Indy Toronto due to a crash in Sunday's race.

GREG ODEN: Oregon Live recently sat down with Blazers' Brandon Roy. In the interview, Roy mentioned that he's talked to Oden a couple times and he's looking forward to seeing Greg participate in more basketball activities in August.

BRANDON JENNINGS: According to HoopsVibe.com, Jennings believes his Bucks team is capable of finishing in the top four of the Eastern Conference.

YAO MING: The Houston Rockets sign Brad Miller as Yao Ming's backup to a 3-year, $15 million dollar deal.

STEVE NASH: Un-drafted guard Jeremy Lin (who outplayed John Wall in Summer League), says that his game models that of Steve Nash. Lin, who played ball at Harvard, was eventually signed by the Dallas Mavericks.

HELIO CASTRONEVES: The Brazilian Indycar Champ has a new book out titled, Victory Road: The Ride of My Life. The autobiography gives fans insight into Helio's fast-pace life including his memorable 1st place win on ABC's Dancing with the Stars. Congrats Helio; have to check your book out.

STEVE NASH: Hangtime-NBA.com blog discusses the new PHX Suns team. With Nash leading the way, Paul Coro of the Arizona Republic analyses the strength and weaknesses of the Amar'e-less Suns. With the addition of Turkoglu, Coro states that the PHX Suns will retain its crown in regards to having the best bench in the NBA.
