Both teams struggled early, coming out of the gate sloppy. Both the UCLA Bruins and the Arizona Wildcats had 10 turnovers apiece in the 1st half. Solomon Hill, the lone bright spot, lead all players with 14 points and 6 rebounds at the half.
The Wildcats were able to pull away in the 2nd half due to their 27 free-throw attempts. UCLA outscored Arizona 36 to 19 in the paint and forced 6 more turnovers, but couldn’t overcome the rebound and free-throw attempts disparity. With Solomon Hill leading or tied for the lead in points (25), free-throws made (12), total rebounds (12), offensive rebounds (3) and steals (3), he is the Playmaker of the game.
