Kenny Lofton: LeBron James, Kobe Bryant, Michael Jordan, et al.

Whenever I see Kenny Lofton, for whatever reason I'm always reminded of Willie Mays Hayes. Recently I caught up with the former MLB star at a charity event for Cedar Sinai hospital in Los Angeles.

We talked about Kenny's time in Cleveland and LeBron James, we talked Jordan and Kobe, and we also talked about my favorite baseball team, the Baltimore Orioles, one of seemingly only a few teams Kenny never played for. The dude played for something like 11 teams in 13 seasons.

Helio Castroneves: Four Indy 500 checkered flags?

On May 30 you'll get 500 miles of racing. The Indianapolis 500 is the premier event in open-wheel racing, perhaps all of racing. Not only has Helio won it three times already, he's in pole position for this year's race. If he wins his fourth checkered flag at Indy, he'll tie the world record and have achieved the goal years quicker than anyone else.

I broke my nose last year. It also required surgery. The only difference is that my broken nose and surgery didn't result in a trip to the NBA Finals, whereas that might be exactly the case for Steve Nash, which is one of the many many MANY reasons Steve Nash's life is slightly cooler than mine.

Osi Umenyiora (New York Giants): 'Offseason Additions'

Giants fans love to get nasty! They love to throw people under the bus, and in all fairness Osi's game has dropped off in the past year or two, but the good news is that fans of the G-Men (and New Yorkers in general) are more than willing to forget the past if you as a player perform in the present.

So with Osi working hard and the Giants offseason additions, there's a pretty damn good chance that's how it'll all shake out this year, especially since Osi will get to put the bullseye on Kevin Kolb twice per season.

Osi Umenyiora: 'Always Pushing'

From Osi's Playmaker Mobile page: "One of the reasons I don't like to take any time off in the offseason is I feel like I push myself harder than most people. No matter how many sacks or how many tackles I have I never feel like I'm as good as I'm supposed to be. Like in 2007 when I had six sacks in the game against the Eagles, I missed two sacks and that's all I could think about. I had six when I should've had eight. I probably started that at the end of my college career. That was the first time I knew this is what I was going to be doing, that I was going to be good enough to play in the NFL. I guess I'm a pessimist, I see the negative instead of the positive. I'm not like that in my personal life, but I definitely do it when I'm playing"
